The first Huangguoshu Waterfall International Canoe Slalom Extreme concluded on October 26 in Anshun City, southwest China’s Guizhou Province, after two thrilling days of high-speed action and natural spectacle. Nearly 100 athletes from countries and regions including France, Germany, the United States, the Czech Republic, Italy, Slovenia, and China took part in the event.
Competitors faced wild rapids, shifting weather, and rugged terrain during the wildwater canoe slalom and long-distance races, both held in the area’s untamed natural waterways.
Set against the backdrop of the majestic Huangguoshu Waterfall – Asia’s largest, standing over 77 metres tall and 101 metres wide – the event celebrated both the skill of extreme sport and the stunning natural beauty of Guizhou, cementing the region’s status as a premier destination for outdoor adventure.
