With the 8th China International Import Expo about to open in Shanghai, landscaping at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre and across a 14-kilometre zone has been completed, dressing the site in blooms, flags and fountains ready to welcome guests. Central beds are fully dressed and sunlight plays over the water features.
South Square’s layout continues a “clouds–mountains–terrace flower sea–river–modern city garden” spatial theme. The terraced planting features large zinnias and marigolds selected for local conditions, with designers adjusting the yellow and orange palettes for a richer, more vivid effect.
In total, the expo displays 528,000 potted flowers across more than 8,251 square metres. The floral staging transforms the convention centre and its surrounding areas into a bright, seasonal welcome for domestic and international visitors.
