[China Thrills] Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Valley Draws Holiday Tourist Surge
: :

The Wild Elephant Valley in southwest China’s Yunnan Province saw a steady rise in visitors during the National Day holiday, with daily tourist numbers reaching 12,000.

Located in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, the scenic area became a popular destination for eco-tourists, helped by mild weather with daytime temperatures of 22 to 35 degrees Celsius.

The valley combined ecological tourism, science education and leisure, offering attractions including an elevated elephant-observation walkway, a rainforest cable car and the Asian Elephant Museum. Visitors could learn about the animals and their habitats while minimising disturbance to wild elephants.

To enhance the holiday experience, the park offered cultural souvenirs, free shuttle buses and volunteer services, including tourism information and wheelchair rentals. Professional monitoring teams also tracked wild elephants in real time to help ensure visitor safety.
