It's chrysanthemum season at its finest! Yangzhou University is currently hosting its 11th Annual Self-Cultivated Chrysanthemum Exhibition, transforming the campus into a breathtaking tapestry of color and form, offering a visual feast for students, staff and visitors.
Hundreds of chrysanthemum varieties grace the exhibition, but this year's undeniable star is the mesmerizing multicolored spray chrysanthemum. Through an innovative cultivation process where stems absorb multiple pigments and nutrients, these artistically crafted blooms emerge in a spectacular spectrum of colors, resembling living rainbows.
The topiary arrangements never fail to captivate. Dragons, phoenixes, and stars meticulously fashioned from thousands of blossoms draw constant crowds of photography enthusiasts. Yet the true showstopper remains the peacock topiary—crafted from countless petite blooms through delicate pruning and training, its cascading form perfectly captures the grandeur of a peacock's magnificent tail.
Complementing the visual feast are nearby stalls serving fragrant chrysanthemum tea and delicate chrysanthemum pastries, offering visitors both visual and culinary delights. The exhibition continues through early December—don’t miss this dual feast for the senses!
