Nine fluffy Adelie penguin chicks are stealing hearts at a Shanghai ocean park. Born in December 2025, the healthy chicks have reached their one-month milestone, attracting crowds eager to see the youngsters up close. 

“We feed the penguins three times a day, with about ten smelt fish per meal on average,” noted Tang Junwen, a penguin keeper. The chicks also rely on their parents, who carefully regurgitate food to ensure they get enough nutrition. Covered in soft grey fur, the largest chick already weighs 1.5 kilograms, a sign of healthy growth.

The park has also created a specially designed nursery with precise temperature control, where staff provide round-the-clock care to help the chicks thrive. Their playful presence has brought fresh vitality to the park, delighting visitors and adding a heartwarming touch to the start of the year.
