Beijing’s night-time economy is gaining momentum as more residents head out after dark, turning evenings into a key driver of urban consumption and vitality.
Across the capital, districts are extending business hours and reimagining public spaces to meet growing demand. In Haidian District, Zhongguancun Art Park has become a popular evening destination, bringing together more than 70 retail and dining outlets. With international lifestyle brands, late-night shopping, and landscaped rooftop and courtyard spaces, the complex offers a relaxed setting for evening outings. Local resident Li Jiahe said the area feels “quite diverse and pretty spacious. Basically, it has everything!”
Further east in Tongzhou District, Moon River Town along the Grand Canal has introduced an open-air night market featuring food stalls from all around China. Manager Quan Ping noted the market spans cultural, food, music, and creative areas, featuring eye-catching art sculptures and even open-air performances.
Meanwhile, Solana Lifestyle Shopping Park continues to draw crowds with its riverside setting and illuminated night-time views, blending leisure, dining, and tourism with the sunset.
