[China Thrills] Xinjiang Ski Resorts Enter Peak Winter Season
: :

Ski resorts across northwest China’s Xinjiang have entered their busiest period of the winter, as rising visitor numbers give a strong boost to the region’s ice and snow economy.

In Altay City, Jiangjunshan Mountain Ski Resort has welcomed more than 10,000 visitors a day in recent weeks. To meet surging demand, the resort has fully opened all 61 ski runs, along with halfpipes, an all-terrain park, mogul courses and ski jumps, catering to skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels.

Beyond the slopes, resorts are expanding their offerings with a growing range of winter experiences. Visitors can enjoy balloon rides and paragliding for panoramic mountain views, try ice floating in specially designed thermal suits, or continue skiing on illuminated night slopes before joining mountain-top DJ parties.

Since the start of the snow season, ski resorts across Xinjiang have received more than one million visitors, marking a year-on-year increase of over 23 percent. To build on this momentum, the region is hosting more than 500 themed cultural tourism events throughout the winter.
