Shanghai has unveiled its flagship culinary initiative, “Global Taste”, a year-round festival designed to showcase the city as a premier international dining destination. The programme will feature multi-themed global culinary activities, 10 urban food exploration routes, and a variety of immersive dining experiences throughout 2026.
The launch in Huangpu District highlighted the European Flavours Season market, with Italian, Spanish, and French delicacies including ham, cheese, salami, pizza, and baked goods.
“We hope that more projects and more companies will participate… we can promote the high-quality development of the entire catering industry,” said Li Min, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.
The festival promises a year of vibrant flavours, inviting locals and visitors to explore Shanghai’s rich and diverse food scene.
