In Gangga Town, Shigatse City, Tibet, a golden Guandi Temple stands on the slopes of Mount Everest, framed by the towering peaks of the Himalayas.

Perched at 4,400 metres above sea level, it is the highest Guandi Temple in the world, facing Mount Everest across the range. 

Originally built during the Qing Dynasty, the temple underwent reconstruction in 2014 and was completed in 2018.  

With its red walls, copper tiles, and brilliant golden roof, this mountaintop sanctuary has become a striking landmark along the National Highway, drawing travellers from all around the world.
