Perched upon Daciyan in Jiande, Zhejiang, lies a sight of awe-inspiring beauty—a centuries-old cliffside temple suspended between heaven and earth. Before it stands a majestic ginkgo tree soaring forty meters high. The temple is partly carved into the rock face, partly cantilevered over the void, its dark tiles dusted with fallen ginkgo leaves. The precipice, the ancient sanctuary, and the timeless tree merge into a picture of such classical perfection that it holds the gaze captive.
This venerable ginkgo, more than seven hundred years old, has now entered its most radiant season. Its foliage has transformed into luminous gold, shimmering softly under the winter sun. As photography enthusiasts recount, the scene has drawn them back winter after winter. The most magical moments arrive at dawn or after rain—the gentle morning light reveals exquisite details of the architecture and leaves, while the post-rain sunshine, filtering through the golden canopy, bathes the temple in an ethereal, almost divine glow.
