Beijing’s Forbidden City was transformed into a winter spectacle last Friday as China’s capital welcomed its first snowfall of the season. A soft white blanket settled over the Palace Museum, turning the 600-year-old imperial complex into a scene of quiet elegance, drawing large numbers of visitors keen to capture the moment.
Snow dusted the Forbidden City’s iconic red walls and yellow glazed roofs, heightening the visual contrast and lending a timeless beauty to the UNESCO World Heritage site. Once home to the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties, the vast palace grounds took on a serene, almost painterly quality under the falling snow.
Despite the chill, tourists filled the courtyards and walkways, cameras in hand, eager to record Beijing’s fleeting winter views.
