[China Travelogue] Crossing Mountains and Rivers Along China’s Epic G219
: :

National Highway 219 is China’s highest, longest, and most scenic highway.

It stretches over 10,000 kilometres from Xinjiang in the north to Guangxi in the south, running from the cold Altai Mountains to the subtropical Beibu Gulf.

The highway passes countless mountains and rivers, including the iconic Hongtu Daban, the highway’s highest point.

It links almost all major mountain ranges in western China, including the Tianshan, Kunlun and Himalaya Mountains.

Crossing both north-south and east-west routes, Highway 219 passes through nearly every natural ecosystem in China.
