Lianjiang County in east China’s Fujian Province is greeting the arrival of spring with a sweeping display of cherry blossoms that has transformed a rural landscape into a seasonal highlight.

More than 30,000 cherry trees are now in peak bloom across a 13-hectare garden at Danying Farm, creating one of the largest cherry blossom spectacles in the region. A rich mix of varieties, including Danxia, Yingchun and Hongfen Jiaren, paints the countryside in layers of soft pinks and whites.

As petals drift through the air, visitors wander beneath arching branches, stopping to take photographs and enjoy the gentle fragrance of spring. The bloom has attracted a steady flow of tourists, bringing new vitality to local shops and eateries.

Beyond flower viewing, the farm has expanded into countryside accommodation, hands-on workshops and agri-tourism experiences, aligning with China’s wider efforts to revitalise rural areas through culture-led tourism.
