More than 800 whooper swans have stopped over at Manas National Wetland Park in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, transforming the winter landscape into a lively scene during the Spring Festival holiday.
Arriving between February 15 and 23 as part of their winter migration, the elegant white birds gathered across the wetlands, their presence adding warmth and vitality to the seasonal chill. The spectacle attracted many visitors, who came to enjoy the sight of the swans gliding across icy waters amid festive celebrations.
Situated along a key migratory corridor, the park has become an important stopover and winter habitat for migratory birds. Ongoing conservation efforts by local authorities have helped preserve the wetland’s ecological balance, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for wildlife and offering a vivid example of harmony between nature protection and seasonal tourism.
