As winter loosens its grip, Guangxi Province in southern China is among the first places to welcome spring. Its capital, Nanning, has become a city of blossoms, drawing residents outdoors to soak in the season’s beauty.
In Qingxiu Mountain’s Bells Valley, around 7,000 golden trumpet trees are in full bloom, carpeting the landscape in brilliant yellow. The tree gets its name from its golden, bell-shaped flowers. As a deciduous species, it flowers before leafing out—so when bloom time comes, the branches burst into a cloud of gold, bare of any green. With each gentle breeze, clusters of petals sway like countless tiny chimes, a sight too beautiful to overlook.
Visitors from northern regions, drawn by the spectacle, marvel at the endless golden sea. Shrouded in soft mist, the valley feels otherworldly—a place where a simple walk brings quiet joy.
