[China Travelogue] Yinchuan’s Beita Lake Welcomes Flocks of Seasonal Visitors
: :

As temperatures rise in northwest China’s Ningxia, flocks of migratory birds have returned to Beita Lake in Yinchuan, bringing renewed energy to the city’s spring landscape.

The lake, a key stopover along migratory routes, is now filled with birds gliding across its clear water. Some circle above the lake, while others dip to feed or rest, creating a calm yet lively scene.

The seasonal spectacle has drawn many residents and visitors to the lakeside, where crowds gather to enjoy the views and capture the moment.

Yinchuan, one of China’s first designated international wetland cities, has strengthened its role as a habitat for migratory species through ongoing ecological restoration. The annual return of these birds highlights the city’s improving wetland environment and has become a defining feature of spring in the region.
