The Zhuhai stage play "Dragon Spanning Lingding Sea" opened at Ningbo Grand Theatre with a special audience: engineers from the Hangzhou Bay Cross-Sea Bridge, the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge and the Hangzhou Bay Rail-Crossing Bridge came together to watch the tribute to their craft.

Set against the construction of the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, the drama recreates typhoon rescues on an artificial island, the harsh work aboard engineering ships and the builders’ stubborn perseverance, presenting both the danger and the grandeur of building across the sea.

Cross-sea bridges stand as vivid symbols of national engineering strength, and the play highlights how the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge was called a "super project" for its scale and technical challenges, with builders overcoming world-class problems to reach record achievements.

For the engineers in the audience, the performance felt like a mirror. Scenes of danger, endurance and team resolve struck deep, bringing back memories and a shared sense of pride.
