[Cultural China] A Poetic Spring: Tulips & Tang Charm in Xi’an
: :

During the Chinese New Year, 200,000 tulips burst into bloom at the Tang Garden, a classical garden scenic spot in Xi’an, northwest China. A series of events blending flower appreciation with traditional culture has drawn throngs of visitors eager to immerse themselves in the poetic scenery.

The vibrant blossoms create a stunning contrast against the garden’s antique architecture, with its soaring eaves. The garden has enlisted numerous performers: some, dressed as “flower fairies,” hand out blooms to visitors; others pose as poets, engaging in verse dialogues and allowing the charm of centuries-old poetry to drift through the floral sea; still others roam the grounds attired as Tang dynasty ladies adorned with flowers, vividly bringing classical paintings to life and offering an immersive experience of the dynasty’s splendour.

Xi’an, once the capital of 13 ancient Chinese dynasties, boasts a profound historical and cultural legacy. Visitors have praised the events for offering a refreshing glimpse into how ancient scholars welcomed spring. Overwhelmingly positive reviews have propelled the Tang Garden to the top of local online travel charts.
