The Jingdezhen Handmade Porcelain Industry Heritage was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2026. A themed exhibition highlighting its heritage value and unique cultural significance is now on view at the China National Arts and Crafts Museum.

Located in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, the heritage site preserves a complete archaeological complex of porcelain production, spanning every stage from raw material extraction to firing and dating back to the 10th century. As the world's first World Heritage site dedicated to handmade porcelain production, it fills a gap in UNESCO's World Heritage List for porcelain-related industrial heritage.

The exhibition is divided into four sections, tracing the millennium-long history of Jingdezhen's porcelain industry, exploring its refined craftsmanship, reviewing historical Sino-foreign technological exchanges, and showcasing the contemporary story of the city's symbiotic relationship with porcelain.

Today, Jingdezhen is evolving from a traditional handicraft center into a vibrant cultural and creative hub. Local artisans, young innovators, and visiting artists are breathing new life into traditional craftsmanship through its integration with digital technology.
