A grand intangible cultural heritage parade was held in Huaihua, southern China's Hunan Province, bringing together folk heritage performances from across the country and energizing the summer night with bustling crowds and resounding drumbeats.
The Yingge Dance troupe drew enthusiastic cheers from spectators. Performers in distinctive facial makeup marched in rhythm while striking short wooden sticks, their vigorous steps and crisp clacks echoing along the streets. Artists from Changle Gaige (Lifted Pavilion) Storytelling, a national-level ICH item, stood on elevated platforms in ornate costumes, performing classic historical tales.
Meanwhile, a nationwide food fair kicked off at the Yanyu Hongjiang block, with 50 stalls serving local specialties from across the country. Throngs of visitors stopped to watch performances and sample delicacies, immersing themselves in the unique charm of traditional heritage against the backdrop of the ancient town.
