Hong Kong will celebrate its living traditions with the return of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Month from May 30 to June 30, offering a vibrant showcase of folk culture for residents and visitors alike.
Organised by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office, the month-long programme features more than 50 performances, 40 guided tours and 80 interactive booths. Highlights include themed tours across eight districts, with a new Sham Shui Po route spotlighting the guqin and traditional quilt-making.
A Fun Day at Sam Tung Uk Museum in Tsuen Wan will present Hakka folk songs, unicorn dances and hands-on workshops, while an “ICH Cuisine” carnival at Oi! in North Point explores traditional food-making. Visitors can also enjoy free Hong Kong-style milk tea at the airport.
Adding to the festivities, a horse-themed light show will illuminate the Space Museum, celebrating heritage through art and storytelling.
