: :

The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is not only driving trade in Guangzhou, but also giving a strong lift to the city’s tourism sector.

Running from April 15 to May 5 in three phases, the fair has attracted a surge of international buyers, filling hotels and boosting footfall at major attractions. Landmarks such as the Canton Tower and Pearl River cruises have become popular stops, with visitors eager to take in the city’s skyline.

At the Canton Tower, overseas guests are embracing panoramic views from its 460-metre Ferris wheel, while new translation devices and cultural performances enhance the visitor experience.

Tourism demand is rising rapidly, with travel searches for Guangzhou up 116 percent month-on-month. The influx of visitors is also fuelling retail activity, as malls roll out targeted promotions and discounts tailored to Canton Fair attendees.
