The world's first large-scale robot theme park has opened in Zhuhai, south China's Guangdong Province, offering a glimpse of how humanoid robots could become part of everyday entertainment.

Located at the Hengqin Chimelong resort, the park features more than 300 humanoid robots and over 100 interactive experiences. The robots welcome and guide visitors, perform dances and play ping-pong, while guests can also control them or compete against them.

Most of the robots are made by Chinese manufacturer AgiBot, which shipped more than 5,000 humanoids last year, accounting for nearly 40 percent of global shipments, according to technology research group Omdia.

Beyond entertainment, the park provides valuable real-world data from interactions with visitors, helping developers improve robots' safety and performance.

The fleet is expected to exceed 1,000 robots by year-end, as the industry explores entertainment as a promising route towards wider commercial use.
