The 2026 Dongguan Strawberry Music Festival was held in the southern Chinese city of Dongguan. On the vast 80,000-square-meter lawn, cheers and live beats merged into a buzzing carnival atmosphere. Young music lovers flocked to the venue from across the country for a vibrant musical getaway.

The lineup featured top international headlining bands. The Pixies delivered a 60-minute special set, with their classic hit “Where Is My Mind?” sending the crowd into a frenzy. Acclaimed guitarist Johnny Marr also brought the spirit of British rock to the stage.

Spanning three days, the festival showcased performances focused on original music, Cantonese music, and live bands. Young audiences gathered at Songshan Lake to enjoy live performances, unwind freely, and immerse themselves in the carnival atmosphere.

Official figures show the festival attracted more than 90,000 attendees, most of them young visitors. People under the age of 35 accounted for nearly 90% of the audience, while out-of-town fans made up 75%. The event generated approximately 360 million yuan (about 49.7 million U.S. dollars) in spending across Dongguan’s cultural tourism, catering, hospitality, retail, and transportation sectors.
