[GBA Thrills] China Advances Embodied AI for Smarter Industrial Robots
: :

Chinese industrial robot manufacturers are accelerating the development of embodied artificial intelligence (AI) as demand rises worldwide for smarter robots capable of handling flexible, small-batch manufacturing.

From January 2025 to the end of May 2026, Chinese companies launched 108 new industrial embodied AI robots designed for applications including material handling and assembly, reflecting the sector's rapid momentum.

In Guangdong Province, Huayan Robotics is developing seven-axis robotic arms equipped with multimodal AI models and advanced force sensors, enabling the machines to perceive force with high precision and interact more naturally with their surroundings. The technology allows robots to perform delicate industrial tasks, such as screwing and material handling, with greater accuracy and adaptability.

Meanwhile, Guangdong Topstar Technology is developing an embodied AI workstation that enables four-axis industrial robots to understand natural language, aiming to make production lines more flexible and responsive to changing manufacturing needs.
