Food has long been a signature of Guangzhou, and the recently kicked-off . The 2026 Guangzhou Fine Food Week kicked off days ago, is already drawing crowds with its rich array of culinary offerings. The event features four themed zones: Black Pearl Avenue, home to nearly 20 Black Pearl restaurants from across China; Starlight Avenue, showcasing Cantonese, Sichuan, French, barbecue and other cuisines; a specially designed theme zone where time-honored Guangzhou restaurants offer a taste of Lingnan culture; and an Intangible Cultural Heritage Snack Street featuring over a dozen heritage brands. The biggest draw is the lineup of star chefs known from TV food shows, bringing their signature dishes to the event.
Chen Mingmei / Star Chef:
"This year I'm presenting the drunken shrimp I featured on a TV show, made with 10-year-aged handmade Huadiao wine and Moutai."
Zhao Liping / President of the Guangdong Culinary Association:
"Last year's Food Week generated over 200 million media impressions. In nine days, 120 vendors drew more than 600,000 visitors and rang up over 30 million yuan in sales. This year we have 10 days and over 200 vendors, and I expect the impact to double."
This year's event also debuts new zones for craft beer, specialty coffee and baking, and fine wine, targeting younger crowds. It is also deeply integrated with the Canton Fair, giving domestic and international buyers the chance to savor Guangzhou's cuisine in one place and experience the city's charm through a feast of food culture.
