Ten young musicians from Hong Kong have taken part in a cross-cultural music exchange in London, joining students from the UK for a week of performances, coaching and cultural exploration.

Organised by Musicus Society in partnership with the English Chamber Orchestra, the tour was supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London and ran from July 1 to 6.

The 12 to 21-year-old participants took part in joint string ensemble rehearsals, professional coaching sessions with ECO musicians, and visits to cultural landmarks including Royal Albert Hall and the Royal College of Music Museum.

The highlight was a public concert at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden on July 5, where the young performers from Hong Kong and the UK presented works by composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Gustav Holst and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The exchange aimed to nurture young talent while strengthening cultural connections between Hong Kong and the UK through music.
