Senior officials from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies will gather in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, on September 4 for the 32nd APEC SMEs Ministerial Meeting, with a focus on strengthening cooperation and driving innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The meeting will provide a platform for economies to build consensus and advance practical collaboration, supporting inclusive growth, innovation and regional economic integration.

SMEs are a vital part of the Asia-Pacific economy, contributing significantly to innovation, employment and livelihoods. China has established 22 bilateral and multilateral SME cooperation mechanisms covering about 50 economies, supporting cross-border exchanges, trade matchmaking and project cooperation.

The 21st China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair will also be held alongside the meeting. More than 500 overseas enterprises from over 40 countries, regions and international organisations are expected to showcase innovations across sectors including smart technology, biomedicine and cross-border services.
