I have a Truetone guitar, a beautiful one, there's one like that over there and I wanted to come and see where it was made and meet the people who were involved in making it. It's a wonderful time, and fortunately I also have some friends who live here, so I get to see all of them together.

For this musical storyteller who's composed 70+ songs about China, his Tongxin guitar has been more than an instrument—it's been a bridge. Now, Professor Levine embarks on a special trip to Songzi City, Hubei - the birthplace of his cherished guitar—where craftsmanship and friendship await.  

At the Tongxin workshop, he witnesses the magic of guitar-making firsthand: from raw wood selection to the final artisanal touches. But the real revelation comes when he meets master luthier Wang Fenghua—the man who unknowingly gifted him a custom guitar years ago through a mutual friend.  

Their instant connection sparks lively exchanges about craftsmanship and creativity, culminating in an impromptu duet of Chinese classics. In this moment, music does what it does best—turning strangers into friends, and craftsmanship into cultural connection.
