An exhibition showcasing Hong Kong’s countryside, biodiversity and village culture opened earlier this week to mark the fourth National Ecology Day.

Organised by the Countryside Conservation Office under the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the National Ecology Day Thematic Exhibition 2026 runs from 1 to 6 September at The Corner on the ground floor of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre.

The exhibition features three themed areas: “Mirs Bay, Hong Kong”, “Nature Conservation” and “Village Stories”. Visitors can explore multimedia displays highlighting the city’s diverse ecosystems and rural heritage, while the Mirs Bay section pairs photographs of Yan Chau Tong by landscape photographer Kelvin Yuen with music by composer Tan Dun.

Through interactive experiences, the exhibition encourages the public to discover Hong Kong’s countryside and deepen their appreciation of nature and environmental protection.

The exhibition is open from 11am to 8pm daily, with free admission.
