[Green Highlights] China’s Green Trade Leads Global Shift Towards Sustainability
: :

China is playing an increasingly prominent role in the global shift towards a greener economy, with its green trade ranking first worldwide in 2025 as demand for low-carbon products and technologies continues to grow.

China’s green imports and exports reached 802 billion U.S. dollars last year, according to the China Green Trade Development Report (2026), released Thursday, September 17, by the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Green products are also becoming a larger part of China’s exports, led by energy-saving and carbon-reduction products as well as clean-energy equipment.

China supplied about 70 percent of the world’s wind power equipment and 80 percent of solar photovoltaic module equipment, helping countries advance their energy transitions while supporting the growth of its own green industries.

The shift is also extending beyond exported products, with environmental considerations increasingly incorporated into research, production, supply chains and logistics.
