Wong Tai Sin Temple is shining bright this Mid-Autumn as Sik Sik Yuen presents the two-week ‘Wong Tai Sin Temple Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival’. From September 27 to October 12, the temple has been transformed into a glowing wonderland filled with culture, tradition, and festive joy.
Visitors can wander among dazzling lantern installations, including a fortune cat, the twelve zodiac animals, and even a playful mini lion dance. The temple’s Xin Yuan Garden features enchanting themed scenes such as “Blossoms and Full Moon” and “Lotus Pond under the Moonlight”, while a towering eight-metre “Full Moon Lantern” and a grand lion-shaped lantern plaque welcome guests at the entrance.
Beyond the breathtaking displays, the festival offers a variety of free activities – lantern riddle games, moon-viewing, stargazing, and traditional Chinese music performances. An online hanfu photography competition adds a modern twist to the celebrations, making the festival a perfect outing for families and culture lovers alike.
