[HK Thrills] Hong Kong Rolls Out Dog Friendly Restaurant Scheme
[HK Thrills] Hong Kong Rolls Out Dog Friendly Restaurant Scheme
: :

Starting July 9, diners in Hong Kong can bring their dogs into the first batch of more than 940 participating food premises, marking a new step towards more pet-friendly dining. Restaurants taking part display a designated "Food Premises Permitted for Dog Entry" sign, while a full list is available on the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department's website.

Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan visited a participating restaurant in the West Kowloon Cultural District on the first day, where he said both operators and customers had adapted well. He noted the restaurant had made careful hygiene and seating arrangements, while dog owners were considerate, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The scheme offers places for up to 1,000 restaurants in its first phase. With some successful applicants not completing the licensing process, remaining places are now being offered to waitlisted applicants, and more approved venues will be added to the online list.
