China’s AI Plus initiative places industrial transformation at the centre of its drive to modernise the economy through artificial intelligence, with a focus on embedding AI across production systems, business operations and industrial processes.
A key priority is the development of “intelligent-native” enterprises, where AI is integrated into strategic planning, organisational structures and core business processes from the outset. The aim is to move beyond isolated applications of AI towards full-system adoption across industrial design, testing, production and customer service.
The initiative also emphasises the use of AI for forecasting and decision-making in industrial settings, supporting more efficient resource allocation and operational planning. Agriculture is highlighted as a key area for near-term deployment, including AI-driven breeding and cultivation, as well as wider use of intelligent machinery, drones and robotics for production management and risk mitigation.
In the services sector, the plan encourages AI-enabled business models and human-machine collaboration, particularly in finance, law, transport and logistics.
