[Tech Trends] Robots Brew, Dance and Run at Guangzhou’s XAIR Fair
: :

The 2025 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Industry Conference and the Guangdong Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Skills Competition (XAIR Conference) were recently held. The event served as a showcase for the latest achievements in the region’s AI and robotics industry, a key economic hub in southern China.

One of the busiest and most popular booths featured a coffee-making robot. This automated barista can seamlessly handle the entire coffee preparation process—from grinding beans and extracting espresso to frothing milk and creating latte art. Beyond regular options, it can also precisely draw personalized patterns on the milk foam based on customer preferences, adding a fun twist to each drink.

Liu Chengnan, Marketing Manager of a Technology Company:

It takes about 60 seconds to make an Americano. For a latte with patterned latte art, it takes 2 minutes. First, you upload the pattern to the 3D latte art printer, then create the latte art on the milk foam.

In another exhibition area, dynamic humanoid robots wowed attendees with their abilities, including stable walking, fast running, smooth boxing moves, and even precise dancing. These feats highlighted remarkable motion control and dexterous operational potential. This was not a solo showcase by a single enterprise, but a concentrated reflection of Guangdong’s strong industrial cluster and technological advantages in one of the world’s hottest sectors, built on the province’s solid foundation as the national leader in industrial robot output for five consecutive years.
