Foshan has unveiled China’s first fully automated assembly line dedicated to humanoid robots, marking a significant step towards large-scale production. The facility, which began operations on 29 March, is designed to produce up to 10,000 units annually.
Equipped with 24 digitalised, high-precision processes, the line can assemble an average of one humanoid robot every 30 minutes, more than 50 percent faster than traditional methods. To ensure quality and safety, each unit undergoes 77 rigorous testing procedures covering both components and final assembly.
A key strength of the system lies in its flexibility, allowing manufacturers to adjust workstation configurations and produce multiple robot models on the same line.
The project underscores China’s push to accelerate robotics and advanced manufacturing, in line with priorities set out in its latest 15th Five-Year plan.
