The inaugural Shanghai International Embodied Intelligence Expo recently concluded, attracting nearly 200 industry leaders and more than 15,000 attendees. The event served as a premier platform for cross-sector collaboration across the embodied intelligence value chain, showcasing the industry's full ecosystem—from core technologies to commercial applications.
Unitree Robotics's H2 humanoid robot—standing 1.82 meters tall, weighing 70 kilograms, and featuring 31 degrees of freedom—demonstrated remarkable dexterity. Constructed with aerospace-grade aluminium, titanium alloy, and high-strength composite materials, the robot is equipped with a wide-field-of-view binocular camera, microphone-array voice interaction, and a battery life of up to three hours.
A cultural tourism robot dressed in traditional long robes also drew crowds with its lifelike facial expressions and expressive eyes. Equipped with RGB binocular cameras, it supports multimodal perception and open-ended dialogue, while its skin-like arms and dexterous hands make it well suited for immersive tour guiding and reception services. Other highlights included smart rehabilitation robots, parcel delivery robots, and martial arts-performing robots.
The 2026 China Embodied Intelligence Industry Development Report, released during the expo, notes that the global embodied intelligence industry entered a phase of rapid growth between 2025 and 2026. China has gained a competitive advantage through its robust hardware supply chain, diverse application scenarios, and supportive government policies. Several overseas robotics associations also attended the expo to discuss market access requirements and international safety standards, helping Chinese companies expand into global markets.
