The Orthopedic AI and Surgical Robot Innovation Conference was recently held in Foshan, a member city of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. The event brought together leading orthopedic experts and industry representatives from across China to showcase the latest breakthroughs and industrial achievements in high-end intelligent orthopedic equipment.

The highlight of the conference was the unveiling of the world’s first “six-in-one” AI-powered orthopedic surgical robot. Capable of assisting in six major procedure types—total hip replacement, total knee replacement, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, spinal surgery, trauma surgery, and sports medicine surgery—the robot achieves millimeter-level surgical precision, filling a critical technological gap in the global AI orthopedic robotics field.

In addition, the Southern Bone Valley Industrial Innovation Base was announced in Foshan. The base will integrate R&D, technology translation, clinical training, and industry incubation, fostering deep convergence between advanced manufacturing and intelligent medical technologies, while promoting smart diagnostic and treatment solutions across various tiers of healthcare institutions. Foshan is thus poised to become a key hub in the Greater Bay Area’s ambition to build a world-class medical equipment industry cluster.
