Shenzhen’s robotics industry reached new heights in 2025, with total output rising to over 240 billion yuan, marking a 20.5 percent year-on-year increase. The figures, released in the Shenzhen Robot Industry Development White Paper (2025) during the FAIR of AI and Robotics, highlight the city’s growing strength as a global innovation hub.
Over the 14th Five-Year Plan period, industrial robot production expanded at an average annual rate of 22 percent. In 2025 alone, output climbed 43 percent to around 194,900 units, accounting for 25 percent of China’s total.
Service robotics also saw steady momentum, with production reaching almost 8 million units and capturing 42.9 percent of the domestic market. The segment’s value rose 25 percent to 7.36 billion yuan.
With over 4,600 companies holding robot patents and a fast-growing industry cluster, Shenzhen is entering a new phase driven by innovation, scale and resilient supply chains.
