At the drone zone of the 139th Canton Fair in Guangzhou, southern China, an ultra-light aircraft designed by a local company has drawn widespread attention. Weighing under 116 kilograms, this fully enclosed aircraft requires neither an airworthiness certificate nor a pilot license for most flights. As the only model of its kind globally, it can withstand intense sunlight and heavy rain, operating reliably in 40-degree heat in the Middle East and in hot, humid conditions in Southeast Asia. Drones also play a key role in emergency rescue operations. Another Guangzhou-based enterprise has presented a new tethered lighting drone. It weighs less than three kilograms at takeoff and operates on ground-tethered power for continuous use. Equipped with a built-in aerial camera, the drone has supported numerous rescue missions. The first phase of the Canton Fair focuses on advanced manufacturing, with more than 12,000 participating businesses. Nine new exhibition areas have been established, covering consumer drones, smart wearables, display technology, and agricultural drones, offering new highlights for international buyers.
