[Green Tech] HKBU Breakthrough: Revolutionary Catalytic Membrane Transforms Wastewater Treatmen
: :

A team of scientists at Hong Kong Baptist University, spearheaded by Professor Zhao Jun, has engineered a game-changing "NGCF-OV" catalytic membrane that supercharges wastewater purification. This cutting-edge innovation—crafted from N-doped reduced graphene oxide and cobalt ferrite—redefines advanced oxidation processes (AOP), delivering a safer, greener, and more cost-effective solution to combat water pollution.

By seamlessly merging O₂ activation and pollutant breakdown in a single membrane, the NGCF-OV system outperforms conventional methods, setting a new benchmark for sustainable water treatment. Professor Zhao highlights its potential to revolutionize pollution control, safeguarding both public health and ecosystems.

This breakthrough not only advances environmental science but also propels Hong Kong’s role in green tech innovation—ushering in a cleaner, healthier future.

Where science meets sustainability for a brighter tomorrow.
