Shanghai, a thriving hub for China's art scene, plays host to a dazzling array of artistic events. Recently, the city welcomed the country's largest illustration exhibition—the GAF Illustration Art Festival. This year's edition set a new benchmark for international participation, featuring over 800 artists from 10 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Southeast Asian.

The festival offered a feast for the eyes, bursting with creativity and vibrant hues, with traditional Chinese art stealing the spotlight. Dai Dunbang, a luminary of classical Chinese aesthetics, made a splash with his ‘Ink-Wash Journey to the West’ series, unveiling ‘The Path to Enlightenment’ and another 100+ original hand-painted pieces, marking the offline debut of his illustrated chapter artworks.

Top-tier overseas artists came with prized works, many making their first appearance in China. Interactive sessions allowed art lovers to engage directly with the masters, adding an intimate touch to the vibrant celebration of visual storytelling.
