More than 6 hectares of rapeseed flowers at Chengdu’s Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park have burst into bloom. Their golden waves ripple in the breeze, ushering in the romance of early spring.

This early-flowering variety, carefully cultivated by the Academy of Agricultural Sciences blooms nearly two months earlier than common rapeseed. Its flowering period, lasting from now until late March, offers visitors a refreshing glimpse of spring’s vitality even before winter ends.

This field is just the beginning. The park plans to expand the floral display tenfold, accompanied by a specially designed 1,000-meter immersive pathway winding through the sea of flowers. Adding to the charm, a 10,000-square-meter rapeseed flower maze will open in March, providing playful exploration amid the blooms.

Visitors have shared that admiring these vibrant blossoms under the gentle winter sun lifts their spirits, melting away the seasonal chill and filling them with a sense of warmth and joy.
