An increasing number of cultural and commercial brands, as well as well-known coffee shops, have established a presence on Shamian Island in Guangzhou. The ongoing Coffee Culture Week is unfolding on a grand scale, bringing together specialty coffee merchants from across the island and surrounding areas. International coffee brands from Brazil, Vietnam, Iran, and other countries are also taking part, offering a rich and diverse lineup of activities.

The event creates an innovative crossover experience that integrates coffee, traditional Hanfu, and heritage architecture. On the opening day, participants in Hanfu parades walked along central avenues and strolled through century-old Western-style buildings with signature coffee cups in hand. Many locals view the integration of Western coffee culture with traditional Chinese Hanfu culture as a refreshing and creative blend.

Attendees can sample dozens of coffee varieties in a single visit, with delicacies and cultural performances available throughout the event. The initiative preserves and promotes Shamian’s historical heritage, while also serving as a practical step to elevate and upgrade the local cultural and tourism industry.
