[GBA Thrills] Crimson Canopy: Autumn's Grace at Guifeng Mountain
: :

Nestled within Jiangmen's Guifeng Mountain, a 40-acre tapestry of red maple has now reached its most vibrant display, emerging as a cherished winter retreat in the Greater Bay Area.

What makes Guifeng Mountain’s red maple outstanding is the serene Yutai Temple which was originally built during the Tang Dynasty. As late autumn deepens into early winter, a breathtaking blend of gold and crimson leaves drifts downward—some catching on the temple’s dark-tiled roofs and scarlet walls, others carpeting the stone courtyard, while a few come to rest beside quiet incense burners, where the spirit of Zen and the essence of autumn become one.

Winding upward from the temple, a 13-kilometer trail encircles the mountainside—the heart of Guifeng's maple country. Along the gentle curves of the path, thousands of maples form a dense canopy stretching like a scarlet umbrella over hikers below. From the vantage point of a cable car, the trail appears as a flowing red ribbon draped across the hills—a sweeping vista that captures the majestic scale of autumn’s fiery palette.
