Jiang Zhi Cheng / Hong Kong Entrepreneur:
In a market like Nansha, you have to do something creative and distinctive.
My name is Jiang Zhi Cheng. Everyone in my family is in business. Growing up, I was always hearing stories about doing business. Over time, hearing them again and again, it became a subconscious belief that one day, I would set up my own company too.
I then came to Nansha in 2023, and I have focused my work on culture and technology products in the Greater Bay Area.
Huang Pei Yi / Designer:
Most of what we make are Nansha cultural and creative products, so we look for different channels to collect information about Nansha’s history, culture and distinctive identity, and then develop creative ideas from there.
Jiang Zhi Cheng / Hong Kong Entrepreneur:
Right now, our best-performing series is “Nansha of the World”. We take the city’s personality and stories and present them through illustration, drawing everything into a sketchbook.
It took nearly eight months to bring it to life. After launching our cultural products, we had nowhere to display them, so we decided to open a shop collaborating with a local juice company and integrating our designs with their products.
Most of our design inspiration comes from everyday life. In this book, this pig represents my eldest son. When I first came to Nansha, it was just my wife and my eldest son with me. Our youngest son wasn’t born yet.
I took him around Nansha, getting familiar with the city and its surroundings. I drew all of the high-speed rail, buildings and libraries that we saw here.
Hardy Liu / Partner:
We want to create a shop that only features Nansha agricultural products and our own distinctive Nansha cultural creations. We want to highlight places and details in Nansha that are often overlooked, so people can discover them for themselves.
Jiang Zhi Cheng / Hong Kong Entrepreneur:
This is a complete map of Nansha that we handmade. It shows what fruits you can buy in Dongchong Town, and what seafood can be found around the urban areas. It gives customers who come here a quick rundown of the district.
One of the main reasons we chose Nansha was transportation. The Greater Bay Area is very centrally located so when you want to return to Hong Kong or Shenzhen to see family, it usually only takes an hour.
Driving to nearby cities for weekend shopping or travel is also very convenient.
Nansha is very inclusive towards people from Hong Kong and Macao.
Our start-up costs here are very low. Over the past few years, Nansha has really developed quickly. We’ve got so many urban facilities and even world-class facilities such as the Greater Bay Area Cultural and Sports Centre, and the Nansha Wetland parks.
There are also many lantern festivals and enormous concerts. The district’s potential is huge.
By building a solid base in Nansha early on, you can later export these products to Hong Kong to reach out the international markets with ease.
All of my children’s school placements, from kindergarten to primary school, have been arranged by the government, and these are good quality public schools. If I have time, I always pick up my son from school, because I really enjoy spending time with my children.
We are free and happy here, with very little stress, and live a very fulfilling family life.
In here our children and family would be free to choose the life we want and it has a good living environment. This is what truly matters to us.
There’s really no reason not to choose Nansha.
