A Macao artist has turned a familiar daily squeeze into an art concept, creating an original IP and exhibition inspired by the city’s crowded bus rides. The show reimagines the history of Macao’s buses through cute, characterful vehicle designs, each with its own personality, inviting visitors to laugh and reminisce. The exhibit presents a mix of bus models and artworks that trace local transport memories in an accessible, playful way.

The curator hopes the down-to-earth theme will strike a chord with both residents and visitors, since buses are a shared part of daily life and many people’s travel memories. By using a common experience as a starting point, the project aims to connect local memory with public creativity.

Looking ahead, the artist plans to layer in Macao’s UNESCO sites, local foods, and events as motifs on the bus designs, aiming to promote tourism and create a jointly owned cultural experience that links locals and visitors through a familiar, lived moment.
