A barge loaded with beer and other goods has set sail from Shenwan Port in Zhongshan, southern China, heading to Guangzhou Nansha New Port, where it will connect with an international cargo vessel bound for Thailand and other countries and regions. The trip marks the official launch of the Shenwan Port–Nansha New Port combined port route.
Shenwan Port sits in the central area of the west bank of the Pearl River, linking the cities of Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Jiangmen. It serves as an important logistics channel for key local industries, such as daily goods, home appliances, and hardware products, to reach overseas markets.
Previously, exports had to go through procedures in both Shenwan and Guangzhou Nansha, which required significant time and effort. With the new route in place, the total transfer cycle has been cut from five days to two or three days, and logistics costs have also fallen, giving the terminal a stronger competitive edge.
