[GBA Thrills] Phase V Project of Nansha Port Area Fully Commences Construction
: :

Full-scale construction has officially begun on the Phase V project of the Nansha Port Area at Guangzhou Port. The project includes the construction of four 200,000-DWT container berths capable of accommodating the world’s largest container vessels around the clock. It is expected to effectively drive economic development, streamline logistics circulation, and facilitate the clustering of shipping industries within the Greater Bay Area.

The TSHD Jun Guang, Asia’s largest trailing suction hopper dredger, is taking the lead in waterway dredging and land reclamation operations. It boasts a maximum dredging depth of 120 meters and a discharge range of more than 12 kilometers. Under standard operating conditions, it can fill its full hopper in just 90 minutes.

Once completed, the port’s annual container throughput capacity will reach 35 million TEUs, placing it among the world’s leading standalone port zones. The project will further strengthen Guangzhou’s position as a core international shipping hub and enhance the global competitiveness of port clusters across the Greater Bay Area.
