The "Beautiful China Check-in Spots" campaign has selected 100 locations with outstanding ecological quality across the country. Among the recently announced sites are Guangzhou’s Huadu Lake National Wetland Park and Fenghuang Lake Park.
Huadu Lake National Wetland Park features 2,600 square meters of bird habitat and 5,000 square meters of shallow open water. Over the past four years, 43 new species of vascular plants have been recorded in the park, which now boasts a wetland coverage rate of 57%. Following the ecological restoration of its water system two years ago, Fenghuang Lake Park has evolved into an urban park that integrates flood control, ecological conservation, and recreational functions.
In recent years, Guangzhou has made remarkable progress in environmental improvement. Nearly 150 urban waterways have been restored to clear, healthy conditions, while the greenways along their banks have become popular destinations for walking and leisure. Major parks and wetlands are attracting increasing numbers of migratory birds, some of which now remain to breed. Residents say these environmental improvements have brought tangible benefits to their daily lives, and they are delighted to see the city becoming increasingly beautiful.
